This review is from: Guidecraft High Rise Step Up Espresso Kids Stool Arrived today after a little bit of a (not unanticipated) wait. My son is excited that he doesn't need my help to get to the sink and wash his hands. However, given the price of this piece, I was surprised by the low quality of the construction materials and the finish (which is really more of a dark cherry than a true espresso) is worn (scuffed, rubbed and dinted) on all of the outer edges. Almost looks like the product was used before we received it. Assembly was fairly straight forward. If you can find a different option that is better, I'd love to know! We need this style step stool to work with the pedestal sink in our powder room, so it does the job. Allows our daughter to watch us at the kitchen counter and to get herself to the sink to wash her hands. Assembly was a breeze, its very stable and she feels comfortable on it. The only issue I have is that the finish gets dinged and comes off very easily. Being something kids will use it should be designed to take more abuse.
