Unlike the previous reviewer, it took me about 8 hours to put together (I'm not the handiest person and I was very slow and methodical putting it together). One person can put this unit together although a second set of hands would be helpful.The unit pieces are very well packaged -- while the outside cardboard was dinked up the there was not a scracth on any of the pieces and every piece is individually numbered which helps the assembly process considerably. Keep a vacuum handy -- there are lots of little styrofoam pieces to protect the components that will fly all over your room otherwise. Follow the instructions to the letter (e.g., if there are five predrilled holes, the instructions will identify the two holes to insert a wooded dowel -- put it in the wrong hole and you'll have problems). I ordered the unit on a Saturday and paid the extra $3.99 for one-day delivery...
